RIVERSIDE, CA — January 7, 2009 — As part of its ongoing commitment to customer service, the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) will make timetable and routing changes to several routes beginning this weekend.
The modifications, which take effect Sunday, will affect 23 local and commuter bus routes. The changes include upgraded trolley service on Route 52, which will follow a new schedule and serve more locations in the downtown Riverside area.
Also, Route 39 will be suspended due to low ridership and because its routing mirrors that of routes 29 and 49, which serve the Jurupa and Rubidoux area.
The upgrades are designed to enhance transit in the region by adjusting arrival and departure times and routing to meet customers’ evolving needs and changing traffic patterns. RTA’s service changes routinely occur every four months.
More information on the changes can be found in the new Ride Guide available on buses and at pass outlets this week or online at www.riversidetransit.com. A brochure of the service change highlights is also available on-line and aboard buses.
The Riverside Transit Agency provides public transportation for Western Riverside County, operating 39 fixed routes, 7 commuter routes and Dial-A-Ride service. RTA’s service area spans 2,500 square miles, the second largest in the nation. For bus route and schedule information contact RTA at (800) 800-7821 or log on to our website at www.RiversideTransit.com. |
