For Transportation NOW members, it’s all about being part of the movement. The movement of people on buses and trains, that is.

Since our inception in 1992, Transportation NOW has been a proud advocate and enthusiastic supporter of public transportation in Riverside County. Our efforts have produced results that will last a lifetime, and ensure that bus and rail usage remains an integral part of this region for years to come.

Members of our grassroots group — ranging from elected officials to community activists to everyday transit users — are committed not only to addressing regional transportation issues but meeting the needs of our individual communities.

And with growing concern over crowded freeways, rising fuel costs and emphasis on finding cleaner and greener ways to get around, Transportation NOW is focused on the challenges that lie ahead and dedicated to making a real difference.

There's never been a better time to be part of the movement. For more information or to join a chapter, call Jim Kneepkens at (951) 565-5170 or email at jkneepkens@riversidetransit.com.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE in your community

Mission Statement
To advocate for the support of public transportation as an essential component to communities; to support and lobby for funding; to raise awareness of the benefits to businesses and communities of environmentally sound, safe, and energy-efficient transportation alternatives; and to encourage the use of public transportation in Western Riverside County.

Meeting Times and Locations

Corona/Norco/District 2
Meets the 2nd Thursday of each month,
9 a.m. in the City of Corona,
Corona City Hall,
Public Works Conference room,
2nd floor.
This chapter’s efforts to improve connectivity between bus and rail service have propelled the construction of the Corona Transit Center. Members have successfully worked to help secure federal grant money for the advancement of public transit in the region. Plus, the group’s participation in community events has educated countless individuals about the economic, environmental and personal benefits of riding public transportation.
Greater Riverside
Meets the second Thursday of the month,
1 p.m. at Zacatecas Cafe
2472 University Avenue in Riverside
Established in 2009, the Greater Riverside chapter is among newest of the T-NOW chapters and serves a diverse population. The chapter is working with area colleges and universities to promote public transit and relieve traffic congestion in the surrounding communities. Group members are also committed to improving access to vital resources, enhancing community mobility, and ensuring that state and federal funding for public transit remains a priority.

Moreno Valley/Perris
Meets the 3rd Thursday of each month, 11:30 a.m. in the City of Moreno Valley,
Moreno Valley City Hall,
Council Chambers

The Moreno Valley/Perris chapter takes education seriously. That’s why the group is involved in focus groups and school contests that have the potential to turn an entire generation of students into lifelong users of public transportation. A steadfast lobbyist for public transit in one of the fastest-growing regions in the nation, this chapter routinely evaluates bus routes and administers surveys to gauge demand for public transit, which has enhanced service in communities that need it most.
San Gorgonio Pass Area
Meets first Thursday of the month,
noon at Beaumont City Hall,
550 East 6th Street
This chapter has long championed the cause for improved public transit in central Riverside County. Because everyone benefits from public transportation, this group is focused on educating various members of the community, especially senior citizens and youth. This chapter also studies public transit attitudes and trends to help improve bus connections locally and to other parts of the county.
T-Now Southwest Southwest
Meets the 4th Wednesday of each month,
12 noon in the City of Murrieta,
Murrieta City Hall, 24601 Jefferson Ave.
Thanks to the recent opening of the Southwest chapter, more people in Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Temecula, and other cities in southwest Riverside County can get involved in an issue that affects everyone living in this region. The chapter is in its early stages, but popularity is growing as members ranging from lawmakers to school district officials to everyday bus riders join the cause. Like other chapters, the Southwest group is committed to promoting bus and rail use, and educating others about the economic, environmental and personal benefits of public transportation.
